I have been involved full time for the past 43 years in the art & craft of making paper by hand at my studio, Terrapin Paper Mill in Cincinnati, Ohio. As part of exploring the possibilities of using paper, I have recently been experimenting with Monotype printing at Tiger Lily Press.
Inspiration comes from many sources and often involves plant forms, landscapes and figurative themes. I find the spontaneity of the printing process excels in being a platform for telling stories, capturing memories and bringing deeper meaning to the finished art.

During a recent workshop I took at Tiger Lily Press, I had fun exploring the process of using acetate and applying printing ink to the surface to create a female face. I love textured patterns and the beauty of plant materials so I inked them up and transferred and layered them onto the plate that was then printed onto the paper. I did a series of these- each similar but with different visual elements surrounding the face.
The first one in the series was on exhibit in the summer of 2019, Tiger Lily Press 40 Years of Printing Exhibit at the Kennedy Height Arts Center in Cincinnati featuring an exciting selection of work by members living in our region.
